Isolina C. Deras, 82, passed away Saturday at her home in Vallejo.
Ms. Deras was born to Jose Lisandro and Felicita Deras in Honduras. She has lived in Vallejo the past 37 years. She worked as a Registered Nurse in El Salvador at Centro de Salud Santiago de Maria until 1976, and as a CNA in Vallejo at Crestwood Manor Convalescent Hospital until she retired in 2007. She was proud to have been named Nurse of the year in the entire country of El Salvador in 1975. She was a longtime member of St. Basil's Catholic Church and the Guadalupanos Association.
She was preceded in death by her grandson, Jorgito Deras in 2009.
Survivors include her sons, Luis (Orlando Jones) Deras and Jorge (Rosamaria) Deras; grandchildren, Reyna, Jazzmin and Maria Deras; great-grandchildren, Naim Assad and Isabella Rose Cromwell; her siblings, Lucy (Jim) Peerson, Irma Romero, Gladys Deras, Hector Andres Deras, Mauro Deras and Roberto Deras; her uncle, Bill Marin; the Botello-Deras family, Deras-Montalvo family, and the rest of the Deras family.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Friday, July 5, at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo, followed by a Catholic Mass at 1 p.m., at St. Basil's Catholic Church, 1230 Nebraska St., Vallejo, with burial services at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo. We will have a reception to follow which will be announced at the service.
