Jackie Dean "Jack" Harmon, 72, of Benicia passed away Sunday at his home following a brief illness. He was born in Springtown, Arkansas and has been a Benicia resident for the past 66 years.
He served in the United States Army from 1958-1962.
Jack worked for Gibson Publications and the Vallejo Times Herald for more than 26 years before retiring in 1986.  He was a loving husband, father and grandpa. He loved his weekend road trips and building model airplanes.
Jack is survived by Mary, his wife of 50 years; son, Kennith Ray Harmon; daughter, Susan Harmon; sister, Sue DiAngelo; brothers, Bob and Tom Harmon and his grandson, Carl Burton "C.J." Pendleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Trave and Velma Harmon; brother, Bill Harmon and sisters, Hildred Thornton and Syble Littlefield.
