It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Jeffrey Alan Winship.
Jeff passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 16, 2013. He was 46. Jeffrey was born May 17, 1966 to Roger and Peggy Winship.
Jeff attended Benicia schools, where he became an excellent soccer player and swimmer.
He also loved the outdoor events by snow skiing and snowboarding, scuba diving and of course who could forget his favorite "Golf Day!" Once Jeff graduated from Benicia High School in 1984 and then enlisted in the
United States Air Force
There he served as a Dedicated K-9 Handler for many years. After his tour of duty Jeffrey returned to Benicia to follow in his father's footsteps. Jeff always said he wanted to be like his Dad. Jeff completed many courses to enhance his knowledge of the business.
After graduation at the top of his classes, Jeff became an accomplished welder, crane operator and a Vibration Systems Analyst at Valero.
Jeff is preceded in death by his father, Roger Alan Winship.
Jeffrey is survived by his best friend, soul mate and wife, Diane White-Winship. He is also survived by his son, Jeffrey Alan Jr. (Angela) and his only grandchild, Lyra who reside in Newport News, VA. Jeff is also survived by his mother, Peggy Winship, and his brothers, Keith (Abby) Winship, Kevin (Shawn) Winship. Jeff leaves behind his nieces and nephews; Reece, Elly, Michaela and Chloe all residing in Florida. Also left behind is his devoted mother-in-law, Joan White and three brothers-in-law, Robert (Barbara) of Colorado Springs, Tracy (Barbara) White of Vacaville and Joseph (Crystal) White of Vallejo; two nephews, Reed and Chandler White of Vacaville.
Services will be held at 1 p.m., April 23, 2013 at Church on the Hill, 210 Locust Drive, Vallejo.
