Madeline Williams passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, at her daughter's home in Capitol Heights, Md.
Born in Vallejo, Ms. Williams was the youngest of six children of Peter and Cleola Williams. She attended schools in Vallejo, graduated from Berkeley High School and later attended San Francisco State University.
While in Vallejo, she received her Christian education at Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. Ms. Williams also lived in Berkeley and Oakland, where she was a self-employed nonprofit organization bookkeeper and recreational tennis player.
She is predeceased by her parents and her brother, Jasper.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tamu Seck (Papa Maniang Seck); her eight-year-old twin granddaughters, Fatouja and Madeline Seck; two brothers, James Williams (Ursula) and William Williams; two sisters, Lufina Wilcox and Tornelia Smith; and a host of relatives, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, at Kyles Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, 912 Florida St., Vallejo.
