July 29, 1935 - Feb. 26, 2013
Nina Tesoro Patton was born on July 29, 1935 in Lallo Cagayan, Philippines. Her parents were Antonio Tesoro and Andrea Dupaya Tesoro, she had seven sisters and two brothers. Nina comes from a musically inclined family that loved to sing and play various musical instruments: the guitar, piano and harp. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1969 and lived in Vallejo. After living in Vallejo for a few years, she petitioned her seven children to come to the United States.
She became active at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Vallejo, and sang in a choir for over 20 years. Nina had a true devotion to Mother Mary. She volunteered countless hours to ensure the flowers, the float, and everything went well during the annual Flores De Mayo held at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. In addition, she was involved in the Filipino-American Catholic Club and The Legion of Mary, to name a few. Because there was a need of singing and music during Mass at St. Rose of Lima in Crockett, Nina continued her mission there. She sang during Masses, attended regular Mass on Sundays and every Wednesday for Our Mother of Perpetual Help at St. Vincent.
She is survived by seven children, Edward, Teresita, Thelma, Evelyn, Grace, Julie and Edwin; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
She will be missed by all her family and friends.
