Ricardo Frank Tringali Notice
Aug. 10, 1951-Dec. 20, 2013
Ric Tringali, of Vallejo, artist, award-winning illustrator, industrial and visual designer, philosopher, master cook, bon vivant, gardener, chicken farmer and lover of beautiful old things, died Dec. 20, at UCSF following a long illness. He was 62.
Born in Algonac, Michigan, he grew up on the waterfront near Lake Saint Clair and graduated from Algonac High School. He studied art at the Kendall College of Art and Design and Thomas Jefferson College in Michigan.  He moved to the Bay Area in 1975 and received his BFA and MFA at the San Francisco Art Institute. He exhibited extensively throughout the Bay Area, New York and Chicago, finding his guide in the belief that art and philosophy were deeply intertwined with the spiritual. His work is in many private and public collections, nationally and in Europe.
He is survived by his sister, Nadine Tringali, and brother, Frank Tringali, by his nieces Whitney, Avery, Haley and Raychel, and remembered dearly by loving friends.  A memorial service will be held in the spring.
