Ron Avilla passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 68. He was born in Woodland, California to Joe and Ruby Avilla. In 1947, his family moved to Vallejo.
Ron attended Vallejo High School, then proudly served his country by joining the US Army. He previously worked at Mare Island, Casa De Vallejo and other properties as a maintenance manager.
Ron's interests included fishing, cooking, and working on projects in his garage.
He was a very generous man with a big heart, who always found time to help others. Ron had a great sense of humor, he always knew how to put a smile on your face.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Avilla. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Avilla; mother, Ruby Avilla; sister, Jo-Ann Jepson (John), and his four children, Tana, Joey, Ashley and Christa Avilla; stepson, Aaron Horrell (Janet); 12 grandchildren; niece, Kim Porzio; nephew, Dan Jepson (Pam), and several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 25, at Holy Family Parish, 101 Antonina Ave., American Canyon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
