Thomas J. Deliman, 82, died after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease on Tuesday, Feb. 27. He was born July 21, 1930 in Nogales, AZ., to M. Margaret and Paul Deliman, he was the youngest of six siblings.
In 1953, at the age of 18, Tom moved to Vallejo, CA., to live with his aunt and uncle and entered Vallejo Junior College. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he found employment at the Benicia Arsenal and Mare Island Naval Shipyard, where he stayed employed for more than 38 years. During his employment at Mare Island, he held a second job at Rogers Bottling Company working on the trucks for 10 years.
He was a member of the Saint Basil's Parish and Vallejo Elks Club.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Erna Deliman; five children, Debbie Trujillo (Jerry), Bill Deliman (Scott Minkow), Jim Deliman (Michalyn), Joe Deliman (Gina) and Renee Gutierrez (Carlos); six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services honoring his life will be at Colonial Chapels, 1000 Redwood St., Vallejo, followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery, 550 Glen Cove Pkwy, Vallejo.
Visitation at Colonial Chapels will be on Tuesday, March 5, between 1 and 9 p.m. Funeral service will be at Colonial Chapels on Wednesday, March 6, at 11 a.m.
