Timothy (Tim) G. Ellis, 66, of Sun City West, Arizona passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 23, with family at his side. He was born in Fairfield and raised in Vallejo where he earned his Eagle Scout and graduated from Hogan Senior High School in 1965. Tim lived in Vallejo, Napa and Lodi before settling in Arizona.
Tim worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard until he enlisted in the
United States Air Force
. Upon discharge, he attended Diablo Valley College and transferred to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering.
After college Tim returned to Mare Island to Code 365 and also served as project manager for the conversion of the USS Kamehameha. He transferred to McClellan Air Force Base as the Director of Education and Training until base closure.
Tim coached several years for East Vallejo Little League. He was a long time member of the Federal Managers Association and
. Tim enjoyed traveling to the Mediterranean, England, Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Hawaii, and throughout the United States.
Tim is survived by his wife, Bonnie; his three children, Kimberly of Sacramento, Karen of Morro Bay, Dennis of Boise, Idaho; three grandchildren, Christopher, Maya, and Bo; and one great grandchild, Alexis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Lucy Ellis.
A graveside service will be held on March 13 at 11 a.m., at Lodi Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Ismael "Pancho" Flores of Oak Park Christian Center, Pleasant Hill officiating.
