Warner Ray Cardwell, 81, of American Canyon died April 10, in Grants Pass. OR.
He was born May 30, 1931, in St. Louis, Oklahoma to Carl and Daisy Cardwell. He moved to Bakersfield in 1937 and to Vallejo in 1941. He served in the Navy from 1950 to 1954. In 1955, he graduated from Vallejo Jr. College. On April 8, 1963 he married Mary Norton, who died in 1982. He worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard for 31 years as an electrical inspector. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family and he loved to dance.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Cardwell of Dobbins, Patrick Cardwell of Redding and Robert Cardwell of Vacaville; a daughter, Cyndi Crofoot of Grants Pass, OR.; one sister, Lorene Bowling of Vallejo; one brother, Roy Cardwell of Suisun; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 10 a.m., with the memorial service at 12 p.m., with Chris Cowan officiating at Napa Valley Memorial Park, 2383 Napa Vallejo Hwy, Napa, CA 94558. A graveside service will follow at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa.
