Maria R. Harvey passed away Tuesday at her home in Benicia. She was 67 years old. She was born in Pittsburg, California and has lived in Benicia for over 30 years.
Maria worked for the Social Security Administration for 25 years before retiring in 2005. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Vallejo Piecekeepers and was a huge fan of both the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Maria was a strong supporter of Peace and Women's Rights.
She is survived by her sister Elizabeth (Mario) Re; niece, Jennifer Re; great nephew, Brandon Re; stepchildren, Anna Stevens and Stephanie Rojas; step grandchildren, Joseph and Jonathan Schnell, Jacob Ingersoll, Jackson Stevens, Sierra and Alec Harvey and Cameron and Konner Rojas; great grandchildren, Nathan & Addison Schnell and Andrew Loffel; her mother-in-law, Afton Harvey and her beloved dog Cracker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Harvey; stepson, Tommy Harvey; her brother, Arthur Ison and her parents, Paul and Dorothy Rodriguez.
Vigil services will be held 7 p.m. Sunday at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m. Monday at St. Dominic's Church followed by burial in St. Dominic's Cemetery.
