Richard William Bishop loving husband of Janet Bishop, of Benicia, passed away suddenly as a result of a severe stroke on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013. Rick will be missed by many, including his sisters, Lynne, Barbara and Dixie. To his many nieces and nephews, as well as their children, he was their well loved eccentric Uncle Rick. He will be missed by his faithful Chihuahua, Gidget, whom he loved to spoil.

Rick was born in Lakewood, Colorado and moved with his family to California in 1962. He graduated from Lynbrook High School, San Jose, in 1972 and attended De Anza Junior College, Cupertino. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Margaret Bishop and beloved brother, Russell Bishop. An aficionado of music, Rick was an acoustical and electric guitar player, a member of the San Jose Band, The Ceramic Flowers, as well as a loyal supporter of his childhood friend, the late Texas musician and guitar designer, Paul Skelton of the Cornell Hurd Band.

In the last 15 years Rick became a Microsoft Certified Technician, and as an inventive writer, he created the Prankster Gazette; an online newspaper featuring poetry, humor, and venting, not only by him, but also his vast number of web friends. We will miss his smile and his lovely ability to find the good in everyone.
