Vivian J. Spinelli, 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughter by her side on July 14, in West Point, CA.

Vivian was born on Aug. 27, 1917 to Julian and Anne Hendricks in Salem, OR. She grew up in Salem and attended local schools including Salem High. She graduated in 1936 and then moved to Vallejo, Calif.

Vivian was a longtime Vallejo resident. She was a well known Realtor for many years and a member of St. Basil's Parish. She was an avid sports fan enjoying golf, hunting, football, tennis and dancing. She was affectionately known as "Granny Goose" by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Vivian was preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Anne Hendricks of Prineville, OR; sister, Hazel Griepentrog of Salem, OR and Marie Woitt of Jackson, CA.

Survivors include her son, Philip Spinelli (Debbie Heck) of Clearlake; daughter, Teena Gunderson (Mike Eakin) of West Point; sister, Lucille Lieser, 98, of Prineville, OR; grandchildren, Amy Gunderson (Mike Shepherd) and Daryl Gunderson (Kate Breen); and great grandchildren, Taelor Gunderson O'Reilly, Connor and Cruz Gunderson, of Vacaville; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 23 at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Hospice of Amador and Calaveras Counties, P.O. Box 595, Jackson, CA 95624-0595.
