Nov. 6, 1979 – Jan. 27, 2013
Aleator Obijofore Evans, 33, formerly of Vallejo, died unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 27 at home in Richmond.
Aleator was born in Vallejo to Lee and Barbara Evans. To this union his younger sister, Simone Evans was also born. His mother owned a well-known local salon, Crown and Glory Weaving; his father is 1968 double gold medalist and track coach.
Aleator was a 1997 Vallejo High School graduate where he was a popular track and field athlete. Aleator gave back to the community by mentoring youth and becoming a track and field coach in his spare time.
Much like his character, Aleator had a colorful career and made many friends where ever he went. Recently he was a bartender at Era Art Bar and Lounge, Oakland. However, he worked in the fitness industry for years as a personal trainer and was owner of MetaMorph Fitness.
As a child he attended Vallejo Revival Center Ministries (Pastor Ricky Nutt) where he was baptized. More recently, he was member of Ephphatha Ministries (Pastor Regina Wakefield) in Vallejo.
Aleator enjoyed creating and appreciating all forms of art. He was very social and spiritual and loved passionate conversations about life and its lessons.
Aleator's free spirit, loving attitude and generosity gave him the unique ability to touch many people young and old. He will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wonda Barbara McCleod in 1999 and grandmother, Martha McCleod in 2009.
Survivors include his wife, Lerecia and son, Kairos Jedidiah; a daughter, Blythe Adiah; his father, Lee Evans (Princess); and his siblings, Simone Evans, Keith, Solofo, Menja, Nirina and Angelica Evans; uncles, aunts, cousins and a host of other relatives and extended family.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, Vallejo. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m., at Revival Center Ministries, Vallejo.
