Andrea Irene Troy died peacefully at the home of her daughter on March 20, after being diagnosed with terminal brain cancer last September.
Andrea was born and raised in Vallejo. She attended Vallejo High School, and after graduation she worked at Broadway Hospital. She married Mike Troy, her husband of 45 years, and had a daughter, Dreanne. She returned to work at Kaiser Hospital where she began in the chart room and rose through the ranks to become the Department Manager of Home Heath/Skilled Nursing Facilities. She retired in the spring of 2012 with 35 years of service to Kaiser. Andrea enjoyed gardening, sewing, and crafting. She was a dedicated wife and mother, but what she enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren, Mary and Jack.
Andrea is survived by her husband, Mike Troy; daughter, Dreanne Foust; grandchildren, Mary and Jack Foust; mother, Demetria Nickolatos, and sisters, Geraldine Steinberger and Iris Gepford.
A memorial celebration will be held at Zio Fraedo's in Vallejo on Sunday, April 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Richard A. Steinberger Scholarship at St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School, 1500 Benicia Road, Vallejo, CA 94591.
