Robert William Pinero Notice

Robert (Bob) passed away Sunday, May 12, at his home in Green Valley at the age of 88. Bob was born to Francisco and Trinity Pinero in the Bronx in New York.
In Dec. of 1942 he joined the Marine Corps and served until June of 1946. During that time he trained and became a Paratrooper. He was sent to Iwo Jima where he served until March of 1945, when he was wounded, receiving the Purple Heart. He was sent to Mare Island Hospital in Vallejo, CA, and that was when he met and later married his wife, Addie. They enjoyed 66 years of marriage.
After Bob left the Marine Corps he went to work at Sears for 28 years and another 10 years at Self Service Furniture Store in Vallejo, CA.
Bob enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to read, especially history and enjoyed getting together with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Edith, Eva, and Elsie.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Addie; sons, Larry of Benicia, Doug of Vacaville; daughter, Cindy Burgess of Fairfield; grandson, William (Billy) Burgess of Fairfield; four great grand children; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 West Texas St., Fairfield, Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Rockville Cemetery.
Anyone wishing to make a donation may make it to Kaiser Hospice, 975 Sereno Drive, Vallejo, CA 94589 in memory of Bob.
