Dorothy B. Dailey passed away on June 4, at the age of 95 after a brief illness. She was born in Ogden, Utah to James and Mary Bartholomew, the sixth of seven children. Dorothy was a graduate of Ogden Senior High School and Ogden City Business College.
During the war years, she was employed by the government, in charge of the storage in transit department for the transportation division of the Utah Army Services Depot.
In 1945 she came to California after her husband returned from the war, and in 1947 they moved to Vallejo where they resided for over 60 years. She was a member of St. Basil's Church and was active in the Ladies Guild. She loved socializing with friends and spent much of her time volunteering at the Vallejo Convalescent Hospital. Her favorite pastimes included gardening, cooking, reading and writing poetry.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; her parents, James and Mary Bartholomew; her brothers, Philip of Mill Valley, Victor of Vallejo, Edward of San Jose; sisters, Vera Jones of Pebble Beach, Flora Thorsted of Vallejo, and Elsie Ryan of San Francisco.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Petersen (Paul) of Mountain View; granddaughter, Sara Graves (Bill); grandson, Adam Petersen and great grandson, Jack, all of Mountain View; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services and internment were held at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Helena, California.
