Joseph Lalich was born July 15, 1926 in Iron River, Michigan and passed away Aug. 2. He was the youngest of 10 children. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Christine Stincelli, Jennifer Kessler and Hayley Lalich; sons, Robert Dick and Michael Dick-Shannon (Jill); niece, Nadine Lalich; sister-in-law, Mary Weins; brothers-in-law, William Essex, Bob Weins, Randy and Pat Haslam. He also leaves nine grandchildren and one great grandson. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Thomas Lalich and by his nine siblings.
Joe was a graduate of Wayne State University (Electrical Engineering) and of Auburn Polytechnic Institute (Communications). He was a Navy veteran of World War II and of the Korean Conflict. Joe retired in 1988 as Technical Service Manager, ending his 40 plus year career with Sears Roebuck and Co. in Vallejo.
Joe was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship (Napa). He was a long time volunteer with the Napa Senior Center (Diner's Club), serving up healthy portions of his wit, faith, love, and joy in life, along with lunch, every weekday.
He will be missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Samaritan's Purse, and/or Habitat for Humanity.
A service to honor his life will be held Friday, August 9, at 3:30 p.m., in the Tulocay Chapel. A gathering will follow in the Tulocay Reception Center. Memories and words of sympathy may be shared with the family on-line at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
