Milton Lawrence Duvall Notice
Oct. 31, 1922 - Nov. 10, 2013
Milton Lawrence Duvall, 91, passed away peacefully in a local care home, 10 days after celebrating his 91st birthday. Milton was a second generation Benician. His parents, Frank and Amelia Duvall, were part of the Benicia pioneer families.
He graduated from Benicia High School in 1941 and then attended Kings Point United States Merchant Marine Academy in NY, graduating in 1944. He then was drafted into the US Navy and served as an assistant engineer officer on supply ships during WW2, in the Asiatic/Pacific arena. After the War, he continued in the Merchant Marine field, retiring from Chevron USA after 31 years. Milton loved traveling so his retirement years included traveling extensively and moving to different locals until he got the urge to try another place.
Milton is survived by his former wife, Kay Ryerson of Langley, Washington; step-son, Mike Ryerson of Apache, Arizona and step-daughter, Eve Carty of Langley, WA, and many cousins from several local Benicia families.
Memorial services with Military Honors will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Passalacqua Funeral Chapel. Burial will be private in St. Dominic's Cemetery. Guests are invited to join the families at the Veteran's Memorial Building after the memorial service. The family would like to thank the Parkside Manor Residential Care Home's staff and management for their great care and service. Please visit the online tribute at www.passalacquafuneralchapel.com.
