Elaine L. (Collins) Lehman of Stroudsburg, passed away on the evening of Sunday, October 7, 2012, in the East Stroudsburg Hospital.
She was born on August 3, 1933 to the parents of Charles and Elizabeth (Gallagher) Collins of Bowman Street in Wilkes-Barre. She graduated from St .Mary's High School in Wilkes-Barre and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Elaine worked as an RN at St. Mercy Hospital and the Veterans Hospital, both in Brooklyn, N.Y., and the Veterans Hospital in Wilkes-Barre.
She married Charles M. Lehman of Hanover Township and moved to Stroudsburg in 1957. They had two children, Michael Lehman and Colleen Huther Lehman.
Elaine continued to work as an RN at East Stroudsburg Hospital and then worked as a RN at Laurel Manor Nursing Home. She finished her working career at Young's Medical Equipment of East Stroudsburg, as a store manager, until she retired in 1991.
Mrs. Lehman was an active member of St Luke's Parish in Stroudsburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Marie Clark, Catherine Leonard, Elizabeth Mulhern and Alice Collins, all from Wilkes-Barrie.
She is survived by sister, Joan Eagan of Elmira, N.Y.; her two brothers, Charles Collins of Harveys Lake, Robert Collins of Mendham, N.J.; her husband, Charles M. Lehman; son, Michael Lehman of Rockville, Md.; daughter, Colleen (Lehman) Huther and her husband, Fred Huther, of Annapolis, Md.; grandchildren, Katherine Huther, Isabella Huther, Alexandra Lehman, and Jonathan Huther.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St Aloysius Church, St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, 143 Division St., Hanover Township, with the Rev. Kevin P. Mulhern officiating. Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. at St Aloysius Church, until time of service. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Arrangements are by the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle Ave., Wilkes-Barre.
