Stanley Kabara Obituary

Stanley R. Kabara, 87, a former resident of Swoyersville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, October 2, 2012, at the Kingston Commons, where he had been a guest for the past year.

His beloved wife was the late Elizabeth (Grega) Kabara, who passed away on April 20, 2005.

Born on May 31, 1925, in Kingston, Stanley was a son of the late Walter and Rose (Zuba) Kabara.

Stanley was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War. During World War II, he served as a seaman with the Merchant Marines. He was then summoned back to duty during the Korean War, serving as a private first class with the United States Army.

Prior to his retirement, Stanley worked as a carpenter and roofer for various companies throughout the area.

A proud veteran, Stanley was a member of the American Legion, Andrew Lawrence Post 644, Swoyersville and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 283, Kingston.

Stanley enjoyed many things in life, especially hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, Walter and Rose Kabara, and his wife, Elizabeth, Stanley was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.

Stanley is survived by his sisters, Teresa Miller, of Warminster, Stella Roth, of Warren, N.J., Helen Grzybowski, of Hanover Township; numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, which will be conducted on Monday at 9:30 a.m. from the Wroblewski Funeral Home Inc., 1442 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Roman Catholic Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. Joseph J. Pisaneschi, pastor, officiating. Interment with the Rite of Committal will follow in the Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
