A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday from Davis-Dinelli Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke. Viewing and visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.

JENKINTOWN — Charles B. Shebaugh, 51, a resident of Jenkintown, died Feb. 22, 2015, in Albert Einstein Medical Center, Philadelphia. Surviving is his son, William P. Shebaugh, Kingston. Funeral services are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge, with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Prince of Peace Parish, 620 S. Main St., Old Forge. Friends may call 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Slembarski, Geraldine D.* - Larksville  
LARKSVILLE — Geraldine D. Slembarski, 90, of Larksville, died at home Wednesday night, Feb. 25, 2015, surrounded by her family. The center of Gerri's life were her children. Her love and devotion to each one was endless. Her greatest joys were playing rummy with Lottie, watching the Andy Griffith Show and most importantly, being with her family. Gerri would like to bid a fond farewell to everyone she knew. Gerri was preceded in death by her husband, Walter. Also preceding her in death were her siblings, Caroline, Thomas, Genevieve and Mildred; along with Gerri's best friend, Lottie. Gerri is survived by her children: daughter, Debra and her husband, Joseph, Dallas; daughter, Gail, Plymouth; son, Ronald and his wife, Mary Jo, Mountain Top. She is also survived by her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart, for taking such wonderful care of Gerri, and for the emotional support they provided to the family. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in All Saints Parish, Willow Street, Plymouth. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Samuels, Laura D.* - Philadelphia  
PHILADELPHIA — Laura D. Samuels, 98, formerly of East Center Hill Road, Dallas, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Chestnut Hill Hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Forty-Fort, she was a daughter of the late Reese G. and Laura B. Davis, of Center Street, Forty-Fort, and was a graduate of Forty-Fort High School, class of 1934, and Wilkes Barre General Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her Pennsylvania License Degree in 1937. She became a private-duty nurse for many years, visiting homes of patients, and in local hospitals for many of the doctors who helped train her as a nurse. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout and Rainbow Girl, in her younger years. She was a former member of Forty-Fort Methodist Church. During her high school years and nursing career, she played the violin at many entertainment affairs, and played in both junior and senior orchestras. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, in 2004. Surviving are daughters, Karen Lee Manin and Sharon Kay Foley; grandchildren, Marcie, Tom, Richard, Bonnie and Ron; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Michael Jay, Lexy, Alisha, Ronnie, Jake, Kayla, Ryan, Storm, Dallas and Kristin; great-great-grandchildren, Danika and Julian. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at The Richard H. Disque Funeral Home, 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Robert Wood, pastor, Dallas United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call 1 p.m. to funeral Thursday.

Schwartz, Victoria "Vicky" (Hilenski)* - Dorrance Township  
DORRANCE TWP. — Victoria "Vicky" (Hilenski) Schwartz, 94, a lifelong resident of Dorrance Township, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at Smith Health Care, Mountain Top. Vicky was born in Dorrance, a daughter of the late Joseph and Susan (Kania) Hilenski. Vicky is a member St. Mary - Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Dorrance Township, American Legion Mountain Post No. 781 Auxiliary and St. Jude's Quilting Group. Vicky enjoyed sewing, quilting and baking. She loved the outdoors, working in her flower and vegetable gardens. In addition her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Carl Schwartz; brothers, Joseph, Wallace and Charles Hilenski; sisters, Lottie Jarmiolowski, Anna Berry, Stephanie Wojcik and Wanda Hilenski. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Grinkevich and her husband, Joseph, Cream Ridge, New Jersey; grandsons, Joey and Nick, Cream Ridge; granddaughter, Heather Grinkevich and her husband, Alex Dalis, Brunswick, New York; great-grandchildren, Zane and Jacey; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held Friday from the Desiderio Funeral Home Inc., 436 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with the Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in St. Mary - Our Lady Help of Christians R.C. Church, Dorrance Township with interment to follow at the parish cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Sendrick, Kevin Patrick* - Swoyersville  
SWOYERSVILLE — The Lord called and unexpectedly on Jan. 3, 2015, Kevin Patrick Sendrick was killed in a vehicular accident. Kevin was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, class of 1977, and celebrated his 57th birthday on Dec. 20. As a talented craftsman, he did superb woodworking, being employed by John's Cabinetry. Kevin loved to fish and hunt, and his diet was mainly what game he harvested. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ann Ottavain Sendrick, and father, Anthony A. Sendrick Sr. He is survived by his brother, Anthony A. Sendrick Jr., Luzerne; sister, Colleen Mary West and her husband, James, Jackson Township; sister, Maureen Schoonover, Pittston; and brother, Brian, Wilkes-Barre. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Holy Family Parish, Luzerne, with the Rev. Michael Zipay as officiant. Interment was at St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. We miss you sadly, Kevin, and never had a chance to say goodbye. Rest in peace.

Shumski, Violet M.* - Archbald  
ARCHBALD — Violet Mary Shumski, 90, formerly of Archbald, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 23, 2015, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre. She was the wife of the late Adam "Eddie" Shumski. Born in Eynon on July 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late John Misko and Olga (Howanitz) Misko. She was a graduate of Archbald High School and Hoyt School of Practical Nursing. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and a woman of great faith who spent much of her life taking care of others. She was an excellent cook and baker who was well-known for her delicious soups and the wonderful variety of cookies she made for everyone. Her other interests included crocheting and gardening. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Shumski; and brothers, Vincent Misko and John Misko. She is survived by her son, John Shumski and his wife, Rosemary, York; daughter, Valerie Boytin and her husband, Richard, Hunlock Creek; son, Vincent Shumski, York; grandchildren, Alexander Shumski, Pittsburgh, Jane Thomas and her husband, Patrick, Charlotte, North Carolina, Adam Shumski, York, Jennifer Shumski, Scranton, Damian Shumski and his wife, Wendi, Lake Ariel; step-grandchildren, Richard Boytin and his fiancee, Jamie Casey, Ashley, Bryan Boytin and his wife, Alicia, Rocklin, California; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Sureth, Scranton, Katarina and Victoria Shumski, Lake Ariel; step-great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Ava Boytin, Rocklin, Richard and Madelyn Boytin, Ashley; great-great-grandchild, Antonio Sureth, Scranton,; sister, Ann Marie Mahalik and her husband, Robert, Carrolton, Texas; and daughter-in-law, Joanne Shumski, Scranton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Christ the King Parish, 429 Church St., Archbald. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harrison's Funeral Home, 374 S. Main St., Archbald. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Timber Ridge Health Care Center.
