Udoshi, Mallikarjun B.* - Dallas  
DALLAS — Dr. Mallikarjun B. Udoshi, 73, passed away peacefully at home in Dallas, Pennsylvania, in the early morning of May 23, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Dr. Udoshi was born on Dec. 1, 1942, in Pachapur, a village in the southern state of Karnataka, India. After graduating from Karnatak Medical College in Hubli, India, with his medical degree in 1967, he traveled to England and Scotland for his MRCP degree. In 1972, he moved to the United States for continued medical training in cardiology in New York City, before permanently moving to Dallas along with his family in 1981. Dr. Udoshi was a well-known member of the local community for over 35 years, with a prominent private medical practice, MSUR, MD Associates P.C. in Wilkes-Barre, and touched and helped to save the lives of countless residents in the area, passionate in his life's mission to help others. During his career, he was an eminent well-respected cardiologist and on staff at Nesbitt, Nanticoke, Mercy, General and Geisinger hospitals. He will be remembered for his dedication to his profession, his loyalty to his friends and family, and his sense of humor, kindness and generosity of spirit. He is survived in the United States by loving and devoted wife of nearly 44 years, Dr. Geeta M. Udoshi; daughter, Anjali Udoshi Chitre and son-in-law, Yash Chitre; son, Dr. Sanjay M. Udoshi and daughter-in-law, Karen Eschenbach; beloved grandchildren Sushmita, Ashok, Girish, Asha and Jaya. He is also survived by numerous family members in India, including brothers, Subhash B. Udoshi, Arvind B. Udoshi, Chandrakant B. Udoshi and Dayanand B. Udoshi; and sisters, Gauri R. Patil and Sucheta Gadag. He is predeceased by his parents, Annapurna B. Udoshi and Basavanneppa G. Udoshi; brother, Mohan B. Udoshi; and sister, Akkamadevi Haveri. A public memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Friends will be received by the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cancer Research Institute, 55 Broadway, New York, NY, 10006, or The American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA, 18109, are requested in the memory of Dr. Mallikarjun B. Udoshi.
