Cross, Clementine "Tillie"* - Plains Township  
PLAINS TWP. — Clementine "Tillie" Cross, of Plains Township, died Saturday, June 27, 2015, in the Hospice Community Care Unit of Geisinger South, surrounded by her family. Born June 27, 1923, in Reynoldsville, she was a daughter of the late Dominick and Josephine (Brozzi) Barbacci. During her life she was employed as a convent housekeeper in Wilkes-Barre, at King's College housekeeping, and was the owner and operator of Cross Hoagies. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish, Plains Township, and a current member of Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, Plains Township. Tillie was a loving mother and aunt. She loved to make meals for her large extended family and to participate in all family events. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Elias "Eli" Cross; sisters, Corinne Bechetti, Orella Caparoni, Rosa Ragugini and Viola Donini; and brothers, Geno, Herman, James, John, Julio, Natalie and Orlando Barbacci. She is survived by her sister, Louise Yanoshak, Plains Township; children: sons, Anthony Cross, Germany, Gerald and his wife, Rita Cross, Plains Township; daughter, Michelle Cross, Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Alexander, Anthony, Elias, Geralyn, and Micah Cross, Matthew and his wife, Laura Oborski, Jay and Jeffery Sayers; son-in-law, Jeff Sayers, Austin, Texas; sisters-in-law, Mary Barbacci, Alda Barbacci, Patricia Barbacci, Rita Caffery, Joan Cross; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary care and aid given by caregivers over the past five years at Timber Ridge Health Care Center and in particular those caregivers in the memory support unit, and the compassionate care provided by Celtic Hospice at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre. The funeral will be held 9:15 a.m. Friday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter & Paul Church, Plains Township. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plains Township. Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memoriam be made to Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township, PA 18705.

Cwalina, Anna S.* - Edwardsville  
EDWARDSVILLE — Anna S. Cwalina, 89, of Edwardsville, died Friday, July 3, 2015, in Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Edwardsville, a daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Chepunas Munykowski. She attended Pringle schools, and was formerly employed in the local garment industry. She was a member of the former St. Mary Annunciation Church, and was active with the church BINGO. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley; sons, Thomas, Stanley and Robert John; grandson, Ryan Cwalina; brothers, John Munykowski and Andrew Munykowski; and sisters, Mary Barsh and Martha Kovaleski. She is survived by her son, Donald Cwalina, Courtdale; daughter, Kathy Maher, Edwardsville; grandchildren, Donald Cwalina, Brian Cwalina, James Maher, Tara Koffler, Jason Cwalina and Melanie Petrillo; great-grandchildren, Courtney Cwalina, Devon Cwalina, Kayden Koffler, Gage Koffler and Hailey Petrillo. A service of remembrance will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Ave., Kingston.

Dare, Betty A.* - Kingston  
KINGSTON — Betty A. Dare, formerly of South Landon Avenue, Kingston, passed away at Kingston Manor Personal Care Center, Third Avenue, Kingston, where she had been a guest. Born Aug. 8, 1926, in Kingston, Betty was the daughter of the late Michael and Ann Sabol. Betty attended local grade schools and was a graduate of the former Kingston High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a salesperson at the former Bergman's Department Store, Narrows Shopping Center, Edwardsville. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre. Together, she and her husband, William M., enjoyed golf, bowling, Penn State football and ocean cruises. Her husband preceded her in death, having passed away April 18, 2015. Also preceding her are a son, Richard L., in 1978; a brother, Michael Sabol; and a sister, Helen Portik. Surviving is a son, William M., Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Betty will be held 11 am. July 13 in St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 663 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, with Pastor Curtis D. Stephens officiating. Internment in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas, will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations in Betty's name may be made to St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church, 663 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701. Arrangements by the Hugh P. Boyle & Son Funeral Home Inc., 416 Wyoming Ave., Kingston.

Dombroski, Jeanne Marie* - Wilkes-Barre  
WILKES-BARRE — Jeanne Marie Dombroski, 71, of Wilkes-Barre, and formerly of Ashley, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Golden Living Center-Summit, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in the Lee Park section of Hanover Township on May 5, 1944. She was a daughter of the late John and Antionette "Edna" (Oko) Spisak. She was a graduate of Hanover Area High School, class of 1962. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Charles J. Dombroski Sr.; and a son, Charles J. Dombroski Jr. Surviving is a son, Timothy and his wife, Toni, Plymouth; three granddaughters, Brooke, Tori and Amanda; great-grandson, Noah Flis; sister, Marlene Augustine, Wyoming; brothers, Robert J. Spisak, Georgia, James J. Spisak, Hanover Township. Private funeral services will be held from the George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Farrell, Joseph Martin* - Old Forge  
OLD FORGE — Joseph Martin Farrell, 73, a lifelong Old Forge resident, died Monday, June 29, 2015, in the Regional Hospital of Scranton. His loving wife is Edna Scavo Farrell. The couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on June 25, 2015. Born in Old Forge, a son of the late Leo Patrick and Mary Kraniske Farrell, he was a graduate of Old Forge High School. Joseph was also a 1969 graduate of the PA State Police Academy. He retired from Troop P, Wyoming, in 1993, after 25 years of devoted service as a PA state trooper. He also served his nation and was honorably discharged on May 31, 1964, from the U.S. Army National Guard. In his younger years, Joe was president of the Old Forge Athletic Association. He also held membership in the Fraternal Order of Police. Joe also loved to watch his favorite teams: the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. His family wishes to graciously acknowledge Drs. Brian Mott, Terrence Lenahan and Darlene Ann Dunay, for their focused and benevolent care. Also, a note of sincere gratitude is given to the nursing staff at the ICU of the Regional Hospital of Scranton. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Leo, Thomas and Frank Farrell; and six sisters, Ellen Farrell, Margaret Burke, Mary Lembo, Dorothy O'Donnell, Joan Dopkin and Eleanor Revello. Surviving are a daughter, Lisaann Beekman, and her husband, Matthew, Scranton; two sons, Joseph Farrell and his wife, Danielle, Pittston, and Thomas Farrell and his wife, Yvonne, Old Forge; a brother, Edward "Ted" Farrell and his wife Ann, Exeter; six grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Beekman, Joseph, Jaxon, Keegan and Brynne Ava Farrell; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral with PA State Police honors will begin at 9:15 a.m. Friday from the Victor M. Ferri Funeral Home, Robert J. Gillette, Funeral Director, 522 Fallon St., Old Forge, with Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Lawrence O'Toole Church at Prince of Peace Parish, 620 S. Main St., Old Forge, to be celebrated by the Rev. August A. Ricciardi, pastor. Interment services will follow in Milwaukee Cemetery, Newton Township. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
