Derwin, Gloria* - Plymouth  
PLYMOUTH — Gloria Derwin, 88, of Plymouth, crossed over to the next life on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, surrounded by family at the Celtic Hospice. Born Aug. 29, 1927, in Plymouth, she was a daughter of the late Helen Supeck Turpak and Andrew Turpak. Gloria was a graduate of Plymouth High School. She worked as a dental assistant. Gloria volunteered at the Mercy Hospital for 30 years, but being a mother and homemaker was her calling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Daniel; and brother, Joseph Turpak. Surviving are her loving children, Donna Maggio and her husband, Ray, Myrtle Beach, Marlene Brazill and her husband, Rich, Pittsburgh, John, Plymouth, Linda Farmer and her husband, Jim, Mountain Top, Lisa Moyes and her husband, Chris, Monroe Township, New Jersey; and her daughter-in-law, Nancy Toole Derwin, West Wyoming; grandchildren, Matthew Maggio, Luke Maggio, Christine Brazill Perez, Laura Brazill Higgins, Gregory Moyes, Emily Moyes, Shauna Farmer and Sean Derwin; and great-grandchild, Ricky Higgins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in All Saints Parish, Willow Street, Plymouth. Interment will follow in St. Vincent's Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kielty-Moran Funeral Home, 87 Washington Ave., Plymouth. In lieu of flowers. contributions can be made to Celtic Hospice, 150 Scharberry Lane, Mars, PA 16046.

Derwin, Robert T.* - Mountain Top  
MOUNTAIN TOP — Robert T. Derwin, 76, of Mountain Top, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 22, 2015, surrounded by his family. Born on April 17, 1939, in Larksville, he was a son of the late Harry A. Derwin and Helen Repasky Derwin. He graduated from Larksville High School in 1956. Robert served his country and state honorably as veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Army and as a Pennsylvania State Police Trooper. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard, 109th Field Artillery, Kingston, prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Army. He was trained as a military policeman at Fort Dix and later transferred to United Nations Military Base serving with the Eighth Army at Panmunjom on the DMZ. After honorably being discharged, he entered the Pennsylvania State Police in 1960. Upon graduation from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy at Hershey, he was assigned to Carlisle Station and later to Chambersburg Station. He then transferred to Troop P in Wyoming and then was assigned to Shickshinny Substation until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Elaine (Smith) Derwin; and a sister Alice (Derwin) Kruzel. He is survived by a son, Robert and his wife, Jill Marie; a daughter, Marcia; and a son, Christopher. He also had twin granddaughters, Venessa and Kayleigh; and several nieces and nephews. Robert was a member of St. Jude Church, Knights of Columbus No. 6440 and American Legion Mountain Post No. 781, where he served as adjutant for several years. He also was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6615, AMVETS Post No. 253 of White Haven and Fraternal Order of Police Frank Albert Lodge No. 43. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Jude Church, 420 S. Mountain Blvd., Rt. 309, Mountain Top. Interment will be in Albert Cemetery, Wright Township. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre. He was honored and respected by many and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to any of the following organizations: American Legion Post 781, White Haven VFW, Catholic War Vets, Union County Sportsman Club or Corporal Bryon K. BLAKESLEE — Steven Joseph DeStefano, 27, of Blakeslee, died Aug. 28, 2015, at home, after a brief illness because, as he said quite often, "it's always something." Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 403 Berwick St., White Haven. Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9:30 a.m. to services Thursday.

Domzalski, Marie Ann* - Nanticoke  
NANTICOKE — Marie Ann Domzalski, 86, of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015, at Guardian Elder Care, Newport Township. Marie was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Wanamie. She was a daughter of the late Daniel and Emma Reinbold Garvey. Marie was a graduate of Newport High School. She owned and operated a coal sales and delivery business with her husband of 63 years, the late Leonard C. Domzalski Sr. Marie was a member of St. Faustina Parish, Nanticoke. Marie was preceded by her brothers, Daniel Garvey, Leo Garvey, Thomas Garvey; sister, Irene Fetech. Marie is survived by her sons, Frank Domzalski, Leonard Domzalski Jr. and his companion, Annette Wujcik; granddaughters, Alicia and Nicole Domzalski; grandsons, Lenny and Sean Domzalski and Jason and Ryan Borer; sisters, Emma Atherton and Lucille Moyer. Marie's family wishes to thank Guardian Elder Care for the wonderful care given to Marie by the staff. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday from the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Faustina Church, 520 Hanover St., Nanticoke. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Marie will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
