Amato, Pauline A. "Polly"* - Wilkes-Barre  
WILKES-BARRE — Pauline A. Amato, 90, of Riverstreet Manor, passed away on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. A daughter of the late John and Anna Forgach Miscavage. She was preceded in death by brothers; sisters; and an infant son, Robert David Amato. She is survived by daughter, Annette DiCrecio and her husband, Fred, Luzerne; granddaughters, Chris Ktytor and her husband, Jerry, Larksville, Heather Studenroth and her husband, Tom, Kingston; great-grandchildren, Josh, Jill, Shawna, Jayden; and nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Chollak and the staff at Riverstreet Manor for the care and kindness they provided. Amendola, Angela A.* - Wilkes-Barre  
WILKES-BARRE — Angela A. Amendola, 95, formerly of Hanover Township, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015, at the Little Flower Manor in Wilkes-Barre. She was born in Scranton on Oct. 16, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph and Angela Damiano Amendola. She was a graduate of Hanover Township High School, class of 1938. Angela was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during World War II and the Korean War. She was formerly employed by the Roth Novelty Vending Machine Company in Wilkes-Barre and was later employed by Nabisco Brands Inc. in Hanover Township, retiring in 1988. Angela was a member of St. Andrew's Parish in Wilkes-Barre and a longtime member of Holy Rosary Church, Wilkes-Barre, prior to its closing. She was an avid bowler and New York Yankees fan. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph F. Amendola; and her sisters, Mary Moore, Anna "Nanny" Amendola, Margaret Amendola and Anna Marie Amendola. Surviving are her sister, Rita Amendola, Hanover Township; brothers, Anthony and Dominic Amendola, Hanover Township; numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Angela's family thanks the Sisters, nurses, aides and staff at the Little Flower Manor for their compassionate care. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Little Flower Manor, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the funeral home. DUPONT — Cassie Barnak, 97, of Dupont, died Saturday morning, Feb, 28, 2015, at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Township. She was the widow of Stanley Barnak, who passed away in 1982. She was born in Dupont, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Kasa Palenski, and was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. She was preceded in death by sisters, Lottie Zambricki, Marcella Rygiel; and a baby sister, Theresa. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Ann Hanczyc and her husband, Thomas, Newark, Delaware, Marion Chlipala and her husband, Stanley, Suscon; son, Stanley Barnak and his wife, Maryann, Suscon; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Celia Wrazien, Avoca, Theresa Palenski, Dupont; and a brother, Daniel Palenski, Virginia. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Lokuta-Zawacki Funeral Home, 200 Wyoming Ave., Dupont, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 215 Lackawanna Ave., Dupont, to be celebrated by the Rev. Joseph D. Verespy, pastor. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Bartoletti, Anthony J.* - Wilkes-Barre  
WILKES-BARRE — Anthony J. Bartoletti, 92, a lifelong resident of the Parsons section of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 27, 2015. A son of the late Salvatore Bartoletti and Michelina Splendido Bartoletti, he was a 1940 graduate of Coughlin High School. A veteran, Anthony served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, during World War II, and with the U.S. Air Force as lieutenant navigator of B-25 Bombers, in the South Pacific Theater. Following his discharge, he attended Bucknell University and was a member of the graduating class of 1950. Anthony started his career at Michael Baker Jr. Engineering, Hughes Corporation, and Culp Industrial. In 1969, he founded Parsons Sales Co. Inc., where he worked until his retirement. He put his engineering talents to work by designing, building and renovating numerous houses in the Parsons area. Tony will especially be remembered for his expertise at the grill, with his renowned chicken wings, as well as, his skill with anchovies and fig trees, but the greatest legacy he leaves is that of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Angelica "Betty" Izzo Bartoletti; sister, Norma DeVuono; and grandson, Craig Zavada. He is survived by sister, Mary Burridge; children, Rick and Barbara, Toni Ann, Joey and Donna, Gina and Denise; grandchildren, Amy, Mia, Eric, Danielle, Angela, Tara, AJ, Sara and Rosa; great-grandchildren, Garrett, Trenton, Lily, Gavin, Emme and Adria; and many nieces and nephews; and cousins. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Timber Ridge Health Care Center for their care during his short stay. The funeral will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict Church, 155 Austin Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
