Anthony (Tony) Koval Sr., 81, of Dallas passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born Jan. 27, 1931, in Plains Township, he was a son of the late John and Sophie Zimninsky Koval.
Tony was a graduate of Plains High School, class of 1948. Prior to retirement he was employed as an engineer for Procter& Gamble; but, most recently, he owned and operated prominent restaurants in the Poconos, The Colonade, Pagoda and Anthony's Steak and Seahouse.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Koval; sisters, Mildred Koval and Miriam Reilly.
Surviving are children, Blaise Koval, Alyson Kolojejchick and her husband, Mark; Anthony Koval Jr.; grandchildren, Jacob and Ethan Kolojejchick; a sister, Sylvia Campbell; former wife, Rosemary Casper Koval; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life and viewing will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Family and friends may call at the Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St. Swoyersville. A memorial service will take place at 8 p.m. following the viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Blue Chip Animal Rescue and No Kill Shelter, 971 Lockville Road, Dallas.
