Betty Schultz, our beloved mother, passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, surrounded by her family after an extended illness, she was 85 years of age.
Born in Nuangola, Betty was a daughter of the late Harlan and Melissa Albertson Reichard. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and Wilkes-Barre Vo-Tech's Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring from the former Valley Crest Nursing Home, Plains Township.
Betty's life centered around her family, she was our best friend who can never be replaced.
She resided in Wilkes-Barre most of her life. Betty was a member of East End Primitive Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were husband, William A. Schultz; brother, Harlan Reichard; sister, Hattie Richards.
Surviving are daughters, Theresa Pyros and husband, Jeffrey, Shavertown; Penny Yenchick and husband, Gerald, Hazleton; grandchildren, Alia, Alyssa and Christian Pyros; brothers, Kenneth and Lawrence Reichard; sister, Ruth McCord.
A Memorial Funeral Service will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the East End Primitive Church, Laurel and Kidder Streets, Wilkes-Barre. The Rev. Marty J. Garms will officiate. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Betty's family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East End Primitive Methodist Church, Laurel and Kidder Streets, Wilkes-Barre, 18705 or to Blue Chip Farms Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612-9465.
