STEPHENS CITY, Va. — Bryan William Demerly, 60, of Stephens City, died Thursday, May 2, 2014, in Reston Hospital Center, Reston, Virginia.
Mr. Demerly was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of Helen Oleniacz Demerly of Hamburg, New York, and the late Bryan W. Demerly.
He worked at Dulles Airport for 18 years, most recently as a heavy-equipment supervisor.
He served for the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate technician on the USS America.
While living in Hamburg, he worked in the steel industry and was a graduate of St. Francis High School.
Bryan enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time at the Outer Banks with his family. He was also a loyal fan of Hokie football and the Buffalo Bills.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Marla Wroblewski Demerly, in addition to his children: Joseph Demerly (James Bell), Hamburg; Catherine Conroy (Benjamin), Summerville, South Carolina; Bryanna Demerly (Justin Litz), Leesburg, Virginia; Matthew Demerly, Stephens City; and his mother and three sisters. He was the proud grandfather to Luke and Cole, and anticipated the upcoming arrival of the newest, Conroy.
The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sherando Presbyterian Church, 751 Fairfax Pike, Stephens City, followed by a blessing by the Rev. Timothy Arnold.
