Cecelia "Tillie" Klauss, 87, of Pittston, formerly of Duryea, passed away Tuesday peacefully at Wesley Village Nursing Center, Jenkins Township.
She was born in Duryea, on Jan. 26, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Wilk) Lojewski.
Tillie was a life-long member of Holy Rosary Parish (Nativity of Our Lord) and very much devoted to the Blessed Mother. She attended Duryea High School. She retired from Main Pants Factory, West Pittston, where she was employed for 37 years.
In addition to her parents, Cecelia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Klauss, who passed away in 1976; her daughter Rose Ann; her son Joseph, brother Joseph Lojewski and her sister, Rita Guida.
Surviving are her daughters Theresa Mastalski and her husband, Albert, of California, and Carol Ann Schultz and her husband, Daniel, of Pittston; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers Frank and Raymond Lojewski of Duryea; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecelia's family would like to send out a special thank you to the staff at Wesley Village Nursing Center for all their compassion and care given to Cecelia during her stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson St., Duryea, with Fr. Andrew Sinnott officiating. There will be no calling hours. Friends are asked to go directly to Holy Rosary Church for services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wesley Village, 209 Roberts Road, Pittston, PA 18640.
