Charles Ainsworth Jones, 82, of South Williamsport, passed away on Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.
Charles was born in Montoursville on July 19, 1930. He was a son of the late Charles and Frances (Ainsworth) Jones.
Charles graduated from South Williamsport High School in 1949 and attended Lycoming College and the Williamsport Technical Institute. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1954 in Europe and North Africa. He retired from the NCR Corporation in 1992 after 37 years as a field engineer.
Charles married Eleanor J. Smith in 1961. Together they raised three children, Barbara Nichols (Brian) of Hershey, Pa.; Tom Jones (Scott) of Bethlehem, Pa.; and Mark Jones (Pam) of Kingston, Pa. He has one grandson, Joe Nichols, of Hershey.
Charlie was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, the South Williamsport Lions Club, Daniel Boone Lodge, and the Lycoming County Korean War Veterans Inc.
Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing and visitation at Messiah Lutheran Church, 324 S. Howard St., South Williamsport, on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services for Charles Jones will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Susan Lynch officiating. Interment will follow the service at Montoursville Cemetery, Montoursville.
