MELVILLE N.Y. — Charles J. Kaczinski II, 90, of Melville, N.Y., passed away on Nov. 6, 2013, at Huntington Hospital, New York, with his children and sister-in-law at his side.
Born in Plains Township, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna Kaczinski and a 1941 graduate of Plains High School. Charles served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1943 to 1945 and remained an active supporter of the Marine Corps until his death.
He retired as a mechanic from United Airlines at John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores (Kosko) Kaczinski.
His survivors include his son, Charles J. Kaczinski III; daughter, Mia Dunn, and son-in-law, Brian Dunn, all of Pasadena, Calif.; sister, Theresa Horan, Kingston; sister-in-law, Barbara Kosko, Port Washington, N.Y.; brother-in-law, Salvatore Lanzetta, Little Egg Harbor, N.J.; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Nov. 9 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church, Melville, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, N.Y.
