MOUNTAIN TOP — David C. Decker, 87, of Mountain Top, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his home surrounded by family.
Born in Kingston on June 28, 1926, he was a son of the late Howard and Mary Pamela (Campbell) Decker.
David was a graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1944. He served in the U.S. Air Force spanning World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Dorrance Township. He was employed for 34 years at the former Boston Store, then Boscov's Department Store, Wilkes-Barre, and then Sam's Club, also in Wilkes-Barre.
David enjoyed fishing and traveling.
David is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Diana Sampson; his son, Howard, Orlando, Fla.; his daughter, Heather, Mountain Top; grandchildren, Michael Decker, Tiffani Hubbert, Kaitlyn Decker, all of Orlando, and Taryn Pecile and Morgan Hodle, both of Mountain Top; and great-grandchild, Gabi.
David's family extends special thanks to the nurses and aides of Celtic Hospice Community Care for their wonderful and loving care.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. McCune Funeral Home, Mountain Top, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
