TUNKHANNOCK — David D. Santich, 71, of Tunkhannock, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 31, 2014, in Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton.
Born in Duryea, Aug. 7, 1942, a son of the late Matthew and Palma Gnazzo Santich, he was a 1960 graduate of Duryea High School, a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the Veterans of the Vietnam War and the Veterans Coalition.
David owned and operated Santich Cycles, Jenkins Township, for over 35 years and was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was an accomplished pilot and member of Federal Aviation Administration.
David attended Eaton Baptist Church, Tunkhannock.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. David will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Preceded in death by sister Sandra Burger and son, Curtis Hannon.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy LaBarre Santich; daughters, Jacquelyn Butler and her husband, Buddy; Debbie Daniels; daughter-in-law, Glenda Hannon; brother, Matthew Santich, Delaware; sister Palma Baldi and her husband, Robert, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Joe Hannon, Megan Hannon, Brandon Butler, Curtis Hannon, Christopher Hannon; several nieces and nephews
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. Pastor Kurt Bricker will officiate. Friends may call 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mountain View Burial Park, Harding.
