Dolores Olshefski

JENKINS TWP. — Dolores Olshefski, 81, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Wesley Village, Jenkins Township.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on June 2, 1933, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary Wensloff Jakubonis. She was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Social Security Administration in Wilkes-Barre.

Dolores was a former member of Holy Trinity Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, CCD teacher and member of the Christian Mothers Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Stephen, in 2009, and by a son, Mark, in 2009, and by a daughter, Patricia, in 1975. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Stella Nekrasz, and by her brothers, Walter, Joseph and Leo Jakubonis.

Dolores is survived by her children Stephen Olshefski, Glendale, Arizona; Richard Olshefski, Suscon, and Joni Olshefski and her husband, Joseph Kaminski, Hanover Township; granddaughters, Samantha Zannetti and Alicia Kuna; great-grandsons, Carter and Austin Kuna; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Parish at St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, 134 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Dolores' memory to the Osterhout Free Library, 71 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18701.
