DALLAS — E. Fern Rogers, 95, passed away Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014, at The Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
Born in Dallas, she lived most of her life in Lehman. She was a daughter of the late Harry M. and Florence Siegel Howell. Fern graduated from Lehman High School and worked as postmaster in the Lehman Post Office for many years.
Fern was a member of the Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women and the Lady Rebekah Lodge.
Preceding her in death were her husband, George Lawrence Rogers, 1986; sisters, Jean McCulloch Major and Shirley Rood; son, Jon H. Rogers.
Surviving are her sons, George L. Jr., Tunkhannock, Thomas Rogers, Falls; daughters, Karen Perrego, Clearwater, Fla., Dianne Ralston, Orefield, Pa.; daughter-in-law, Robin Rogers, Lehman; brother, Harry M. Howell, Nescopeck; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, with the Rev. Paul Ryder, pastor of Lehman-Idetown United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park.
