Edward J. Pistack, 77, Plains Township, passed away early Sunday morning at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
His wife of 52 years is MaryAnn Wegrzynowicz Pistack.
Born July 19, 1935, son of the late Joseph and Josephine Pierog Pistack, he was educated in Plains Township and graduated in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. Edward was employed by the former PA Gas and Water Company and the Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center from where he retired in 1992. He was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Wilkes-Barre.
He is also survived by a daughter, Carolyn Pistack Nebraski, and husband Jeffrey, Covington Township, and a son, Joseph E. Pistack, and wife Marie, Plains Township, a sister, Dorothy Kegley, New Boston, Texas; five grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexander Nebraski, Thomas and Mary Jean Pistack, and Nathan Swartz; nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m. in The Parish of St Benedict at St Dominic's Roman Catholic Church, 155 Austin Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek
Relatives and friends will be received by his family today at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. A Rosary service will be held at 6 p.m.
