Elsie B. Jolley

Elsie B. Jolley, 91, formerly of Courtdale and Dallas, entered into eternal rest on Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at The Wesley Village in Jenkins Township.

Born in Larksville on Aug. 27, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Henry (James) and Marion Wyant. Elsie was raised in Noxen, graduated from Noxen High School in 1939 and was employed at the hospital in Johnson City, N.Y.; Nesbitt Hospital; and Fowler, Dick & Walker, The Boston Store in Wilkes-Barre.

She was a longtime member and Past Worthy Matron of Dallas Chapter 396, Order of the Eastern Star. Elsie was a member of the Courtdale United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Irem Auxiliary. She was an active community volunteer for several organizations, including the American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House of Danille, The Meadows and Campus Ministries of Northeastern Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Jolley, in 1968; an infant daughter in 1954 and siblings, James Wyant, E.L. (Tug) Wyant and Louise Phillips.

Surviving are her children, Caroljane Jolley, Marion Reilly, Carl and Donna Jolley, Robert and Mary Ellen Jolley, and David and Susan Jolley, as well as 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service and a celebration of Elsie's life will be Wednesday at noon from the Karl E. Blight Funeral Home, 392 Wyoming Ave., Kingston, with the Rev. James Pall officiating. Interment will be at Orcutt's Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Eastern Star service will be at 7 p.m.
