Florence J. Yencho, 80, formerly of Plains Township, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at Little Flower Manor, Wilkes-Barre.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre and resided in Plains Township for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Lewan) Skierski. Florence attended Plains Township schools and worked at various manufacturing jobs in the Wilkes-Barre area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anne Kudcey and Stephanie Mikula, and by her brother-in-law, Rudolph (Ray) Mikula.

Surviving are her daughters, Jill Yencho, Plains Township; Kandace Evans and her husband, William, Mountain Top; Denise Pipkin and her husband, Stephen, San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Amanda and Billy Evans; brothers, Frank Skierski and his wife, Helen, Endicott, N.Y.; Stanley Skierski and his wife, Margaret, Plains Township. Also surviving are her nieces, Deborah Wargo, Shelia Bucci, Roxanne Barden; nephews, Randy Mikula, Frank Skierski; great-nieces, Carissa Wargo, Jessica and Sarah Skierski; great-nephews, David Skierski, and A.J. and Matthew Bucci.

Florence's family thanks the Carmelite Sisters and the staff of Little Flower Manor, especially the nurses and aides of the second floor who cared for their mother.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Little Flower Manor, 200 S. Meade St., Wilkes-Barre. Those attending are asked to go directly to the chapel Friday morning. Friends may call from noon until the time of Mass on Friday morning at the chapel. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hudson section of Plains Township.
