OXFORD, Pa. — Frances C. Glova, 92, of Oxford, and formerly of Nanticoke, passed away May 9, 2014, at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born in Warrior Run on March 11, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Kajetan and Frances Nadwodny Stachyra. Frances attended Nanticoke area schools and was a member of the former St. Mary's Church, now St. Faustina Parish Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 350, Nanticoke, and the Polish National Alliance.
She employed by McGregor & Rifkin sewing factories as a seamstress, retiring in 1984.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund, on Nov. 24, 2000; sisters Anna Sivulich, Helen Shipierski and Rose Wydra; brothers Joseph Stachyra Sr., John and Andrew Stachyra.
Surviving are her daughter, Frances McLaren and her husband, Charles, Landanberg, Pennsylvania; brother Edward, Nanticoke; sister Mary Ann Stone, Nanticoke; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Grontkowski Funeral Home P.C., 51-53 W. Green St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Faustina Parish Church, Secondary Site. The Rev. James Nash will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends are invited to join the family for calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations are to be made to St. Faustina Parish renovation fund.
