Frank W. Markowski, 68, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Wednesday morning at Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, March 29, 1945, he was the son of the late Frank T. and Celia (Jamula) Markowski. He was a 1963 graduate of GAR Memorial High School and had served with the National Guard, 109th Field Artillery.
Prior to his retirement, Frank had been employed as an EMT and firefighter
with the city of Wilkes-Barre.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre. He was an avid fisherman, loved to garden and walk with his dog, Daisy. Frank also enjoyed working with his hands and could often be found tinkering with cars.
Surviving are his wife, the former Eleanor Good; daughter, Karen Mikulka, Lititz, Pa.; son, David Markowski, Wilkes-Barre; grandsons, Charles III and Matthew.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Bednarski & Thomas Funeral Home, 27 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Hope Parish with the Rev. John Terry officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Wyoming. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
