Ilonwhy "Lonie" Booth

Ilonwhy 'Lonie' DeMarco Booth, 60, died on Saturday, Dec., 29, 2012, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Plains Township.

Lonie, daughter of the late Joseph George DeMarco Sr. and the late Ceinwen Lewis DeMarco, was born at Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston on June 8, 1952. She was raised in Forty Fort. She was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West, Class of 1970, and earned an MBA from Wilkes College in 1986. Lonie spent five years in the Naval Reserves in Willow Grove, Pa., as a third class petty officer. Since the 1990s, she lived with her family in Swoyersville. Lonie was a proud member of the Swoyersville American Legion.

Lonie leaves behind her devoted husband of 40 years, John Booth; her loving son, Jeremy John Booth; siblings, Joseph DeMarco Jr. (Nan) of Tunkhannock; Donald DeMarco (Mrs. Peg) of Kingston; Candy (Larry) Rubin of Farmingdale, N.Y.; Peggy DeMarco of Loveland, Ohio; Olwyn (Stephen) Mayer of Tucker, Ga.; Gladys DeMarco of Maineville, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom DeMarco (Martha), Conyers, Ga.

Lonie loved her family very much and got the most pleasure out of spending time with the little ones. She loved dancing, especially the Electric Slide, and reading Stephen King novels. She will be remembered for her feisty attitude, love of family and friends, and strength under adversity.

According to her wishes, the family will celebrate her life in a private family gathering.
