Kevin Llewellyn Kubicki

LANCASTER — Kevin Llewellyn Kubicki, 50, of Lancaster and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died April 5, 2014, at Drexel University's Hahnemann Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born Dec. 4, 1963, in Lancaster, he grew up in Wilkes-Barre, a son of Jay and Gladys J. (Llewellyn) Kubicki of Wilkes-Barre. Kevin and his wife, Leslie (Pelak) Kubicki, were married for 25 years.

A 1981 graduate of GAR Memorial High School, he received his bachelor's degree, completing two years at Bloomsburg University then continuing his education for two years at King's College, graduating in 1985. He was a self-employed financial investor and coached his son's sports as well at Manheim Township High School.

Kevin was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Lancaster.

He was a very loving and caring man who reached his heart out to anyone. Kevin's strong sense of family carried with him wherever he went. He enjoyed nothing more than to watch and cheer his sons on at sporting events and to involve himself as much as he could with that. Kevin's sweet and devoted qualities were significant to both his immediate and large extended families.

He will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jay Frank Kubicki; and maternal grandmother, Elizabeth O'Shea Llewllyn.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Kameron and Kade Kubicki, Lancaster; two brothers, Jay J. Kubicki and his wife, Kelly Kubicki, York, and Dr. Jody J. Kubicki and his wife, Kristin Kubicki, Berwick; a goddaughter, Kaitlyn Kubicki, York; mother-in-law, Sophie Pelak, Wilkes-Barre, and Stephen Pelak, California; sister-in-law, Sandra Kish, and her husband, Paul, Wilkes-Barre; aunt, Joyce Kubicki, Wilkes-Barre; and a niece and nephew, Danielle and Joseph Ierley, York.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E. Delp Road, Lancaster, with Msgr. Richard A. Youtz as celebrant. Friends will be received 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, and again one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
