Lois A. Smith

Lois A. Smith, 80, of Forty Fort, formerly of Easton, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 in Hospice Community Care Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre.

Born on Jan. 16, 1933, in Easton, she was a daughter of the late James Atkinson and Elizabeth Hetzel Brassington. Her husband of 42 years, Richard E. Smith, passed away on March 30, 2012.

Lois last worked part-time for Wal-Mart in Pittston and previously worked for PNC Bank, Scranton. She retired from the former Orr's Department Store, Phillipsburg, N.J. She was a 1950 graduate of Easton High School. Lois enjoyed trips to the casino.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edwin A. Atkinson, and a sister, Gloria DiGiacomo.

She is survived by a daughter, Trina E. Kadjeski, and her husband, Robert, Forty Fort; a sister, Gladys Young, of Glendon, Pa.; and two grandsons, Jonathan and Zachary Kadjeski.

The family would like to thank the staff of Riverstreet Manor in Wilkes-Barre for the wonderful care and attention given to Lois for the past six months.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Strunk Funeral Home Inc., 602 W. Berwick St., Easton. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hay's Cemetery.
