WILKES-BARRE — Mrs. Margaret "Guy" (nee Audi) Solomon, of Wilkes-Barre, died on Feb. 12, 2014.
She was born on Jan. 18, 1915, in Larksville, to the late John George Audi and Atina (nee Sleiman) Audi. She attended GAR High School and worked for a time at her family dress shop in Forty Fort.
She was a member of St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church in Wilkes-Barre, where she was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years and was actively involved in fundraising activities toward the construction of the new church on South Main Street.
Her life's passions were her family, church, cooking and entertaining friends.
She is survived by her loving sons, Joseph and his wife, Kathy, Media, and Dr. Sam and his wife, Karen, York. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Danielle, Rachael, Joseph, Michael and Peter; as well as her brother-in-law, Leo Solomon; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph "OJ" Solomon; brother, George Audi; sisters, Anne Charles, Jean Audi, Barbara Audi, Nell Atty, Kay Audi and Lillian "Honey" Audi.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Service, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre, with services at 11:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Antiochian Orthodox Church, Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
