Maureen Brozena

Maureen Brozena, 73, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Carbondale, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Plath and Eileen Flynn Yudichak.

She attended St. Vincent High School of Plymouth and was a devoted member of All Saints Parish of Plymouth. She had been a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and a member of the former St. Vincent de Paul Church, Plymouth, Eucharistic Ministry and Silver and Gold Club.

Maureen was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Plymouth and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Plymouth. She greatly enjoyed volunteering at John Heinz and the McCauley House of Plymouth. She also was a member of the Plymouth Senior Citizens Club and was a foster grandparent. Throughout her life, her greatest joys were spending time with her family and friends, and her loving companion, William Bednar.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank M. Brozena.

Surviving are her loving children, William W. Brozena, Plymouth, Patricia Jayne and her husband, Roger, Harveys Lake, Karyn Thomas, Plymouth Township; grandsons, Roger and Zachary Jayne, Scott and Jonathan Thomas; sister, Patricia Storosko, Nanticoke; brother, Joseph Plath, Evans Falls; numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to meet on Wednesday 9:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish, 66 Willow St., Plymouth. Private interment will be in St. Mary's Nativity Cemetery, Plymouth Township. Family and friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the S.J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 W. Main St., Plymouth.
