LACEYVILLE — McKenzie June Vanderpool, 4, of 2007 Cornell Road, Laceyville (Indian Hill), went home to be with her Savior, in the comfort of her home, on Friday, March 7, 2014, surrounded by her family. McKenzie lost the battle with an inoperable brain tumor that infected her little body less than six months ago.
Known to her family as Bubba Girl, she was a bright cheerful little girl, full of life, that brightened everyone's day. Little Kenzie was born in Towanda on Sept. 6, 2009, the daughter of Nicholas "Nick" and Kristy Dougal Vanderpool.
Kenzie was enrolled in preschool at the Wyalusing Children's Center, then later at the Sonbeam's Pre-Kindergarten, Laceyville, where she faithfully attended until she became ill. She loved to be surrounded by her large family and her many friends.
Kenzie loved to play dress up, especially when she got to dress like a princess. She also loved to play and watch Dora the Explorer and absolutely loved the colors of purple and pink. Little Bubba always loved to be with her older sister and her two older brothers, but it was her little baby sister that she loved to help her mother with.
Having a large back yard with many toys and a swing set, she would love to run and play with her brothers and sisters. Bubba Girl was also an experienced four-wheeler rider.
Surviving are her parents, Nick and Kristy Vanderpool; her sisters and brothers, Taylor, Nicholas Jr., Tacoma and Quinn. McKenzie is also survived by her maternal grandparents, Carl and Terri Dougal, Monroeton, Patricia Cuddy and Tony Pousen, Towanda; paternal grandparents, June and Joe Rhubright, Laceyville, and Jack and Gail Vanderpool, Laceyville; maternal great-grandparents, Ernie and Harriet Vargason, Liberty Corners, Jack and Karolyn Cuddy, Missasauga, Ontario, Canada; and paternal great-grandmother, Katy Vanderpool, Laceyville; her extended family of aunts and uncles, Branden and Eva Vanderpool, Laceyville, Kristine Rhubright, Laceyville, Austen McGee, Towanda, Erynn and Jacob Wahlgren, Seattle, Samantha Dougal, Wysox, Cornell Dougal, Philadelphia, Christopher Dougal and Cheyenne Ackley, both of Wysox; and many cousins.
