Mildred M. Orts

WEST PITTSTON — Mildred M. Orts, 92, of West Pittston, passed away July 5, 2014, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes Barre. Born in Pittston, June 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Leonard and Mamie O'Brien Campbell.

She was a graduate of West Pittston High School and a member of Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston. Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Bell Telephone Co. for more than 30 years.

Millie enjoyed traveling. Her favorite destination was Canada. Millie lived for her family. Her great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

Preceded in death by her husband, James Orts; brothers and sisters, Dillon, William, James, Leonard, Kenneth, Ernest, Robert, Josephine and Evelyn Campbell, Mary Donovan, Edith Rodway and Catherine Readlinger.

Survived by daughter, Jamie Jordan, and her husband, Ken, West Pittston; grandsons, Jason Jordan and his wife, Stacie, Wyoming; Jared Jordan and his wife, Virginia, West Pittston; great-grandchildren, Guy, Clayton, Emma, Rocky and Damien; several nieces and nephews; numerous friends too many to name.

The funeral will be at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday from the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the Church of the Holy Redeemer/Corpus Christi Parish, Harding. Friends may call 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment in St. John's Cemetery, Pittston.
