Paul Joseph Beretsky

KINGSTON — Paul Joseph Beretsky, 63, of Kingston, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was a son of the late Nicholas F. Jr. and Adeline Irene Kravulski Beretsky. Paul was a graduate of Wyoming Valley West High School, class of 1968.

A native of Larksville, Paul lived in Kingston for most of his life. Immediately after graduation, Paul began working for Techneglas, Pittston, retiring after more than 35 years with the company. Following retirement, he was employed as a courier for the InterMountain Medical Group and General Hospital.

He was lovingly known as "The Mayor" by his family and friends because no matter where he went he would meet someone who knew him. Paul loved having a "couple two-tree" PBRs while watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football. He was lovably stubborn and always willing to offer unsolicited advice.

Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, the former Sondra Lee Stanley; brother, Nicholas F. Beretsky III; aunt, Blodwyn Kravulski.

Surviving are his daughter, Summer Bukeavich, and her husband, Jason, South Williamsport; fiancee, Jocelyn Bernatovich, Kingston; sister-in-law, Jane Beretsky, Larksville; nieces, Karen Beretsky and Jane Beretsky; nephew, Nicholas Beretsky IV.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown. Interment will be made in Memorial Shrine Park, Carverton.
