EXETER — Pearl B. Serino, 77, of Exeter, entered external life Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Swoyersville on Oct. 24, 1935, a daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Savick) Chorba, Pearl worked as a licensed practical nurse for more than 50 years. She was the owner of Serino's Nurses Registry for 15 years, which was one of the first registries to open in the area, providing home health care in the community. She then branched out and opened Home Health Care, also one of the first in the area.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by those who loved her.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Serino; son Robert; and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Joni, and her husband, James "T-Bird" Hooker, Wilkes-Barre; son Mark and his wife, Nancy Bronsburg, West Wyoming; and son Stephen and his wife, Angela Bronsburg, Florida. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Donna and Jasmine, Wilkes-Barre; Paige, Mariah and Damien, West Wyoming; and great-grandchildren, Dynastie and Aiden.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at Recupero Funeral Home, West Pittston. The family will receive relatives and friends 10 a.m. to noon. Interment will be immediately after at the Dennison Cemetery, Forty Fort.
