PITTSTON — Salvatore Farruggia, of Pittston, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Celtic Health Care, Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his family.
He was born June 6, 1941, in Montedoro, Sicily, a son of the late Carmella (Micciche) Farruggia and Cologero Farruggia.
He was a member of the Montedoro Society of Pittston.
In addition to his wife, Columbia (Acquisto) Farruggia, he is survived by his son, Salvatore, and his wife, Terri Farruggia, Haddon Heights, N.J.; and daughters, Carolyn and her husband, Philip Cocco, Hughestown; Krista and her husband, Jeffrey Wargo, Moosic; Maria and her husband, Phillip Scagliotti, Duryea. His 10 grandchildren, Philip, Matthew, Lucy, Sophie, Julianna, Richard, Jack, Drew, Kathryn and Ellie, were the joy of his life. Also surviving are sisters, Florence Aquilina, Carmella Kasulis; and brother, Steve Farruggia.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Graziano Funeral Home Inc., Pittston Township.
Viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral services will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Those attending the funeral should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Marello Parish. The Rev. Greg Finn will officiate. Interment services will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
